Ah, the good old “success” word, it can mean so many things to so many people, often though it starts off as being in the wrong place, chasing things like possessions, people can lead you down a dark hole. But, when you learn what success truly means to you, rather than what it should mean, that’s life-changing.
Take a moment to think about what it means to be a successful blogger, you’ll find out if your heart’s in the right place soon enough.
Day 20: Define blogging success.
I find blogging success, or rather the meaning behind it is different for every individual, which makes sense as no blog is like another, of course niches exist but even then many differences exist. Therefore, the way you formulate success is unique.
Yet, there are a few defined factors that I personally believe determine this, where you are in your blogging “career”, what you consider important and how often you engage with the community, whether this be your following or with other bloggers in the same/similar niche.
I find that new bloggers who have little experience focus on the views/visitors/likes/comments/followers which only makes sense because when you start from nothing, it feels nice to move forward and make progress. Even then bloggers with a good following tend to forget the progress they’ve made and become hungry for more, there’s no living in the moment or gratitude being expressed.
On the other hand success could mean what you consider to be important, such as engaging with your fellow bloggers or replying to comments/questions you’ve received on your own posts. It could also mean how much you engage with them, do you spend time reading other posts and giving feedback when it’s needed? Do you reach out on other platforms?
All in all, success is what you make of it, and as I mentioned earlier you have to dig deep and find out what you consider to be important (let go of the stats) and utilize it to the best of your ability to keep growing.
