This is the sixth journal post of 2019, and I genuinely can’t believe how fast time has just gone by, all the memories I’ve made, the adventures that I’ve gone on and just the opportunities that have come my way. I vividly remember writing my January Journal // 2019 post and how much I put forth about my life, it’s ups and downs and where I wanted to be as the months rolled on by.
Well I’ve certainly had a busy, productive, whirlwind of a month.
The month started off with me running round and round, catching up with family and friends, getting more invested into the research aspect on my job, hunting for jobs and attending interviews and overall, adulting to the extreme. I’ve never felt more like an adult than I have since I turned 18 (an actual legal adult), which I think says a lot about the opportunities I’ve taken and time I invested (let’s be real, I was way too anxious to even try applying for work).
Though things have started to calm down considerably, there were many in-between travels to the cinema, to a dozen different food places and of course what’s my life without some mini golf action? Sadly, I attended a leaving lunch at work, though I’m still working until mid-June and I’ve switched to part-time I’m still excited to work on a bunch of different projects and expand my knowledge of clinical psychology, the NHS and just mental health services in general.
I’m incredibly proud of securing a University Manager job at my university for 6 months starting in September, when I enter my final year and also of attending an assessment day at a tutoring centre. There’s a few more opportunities coming my way so I’m pretty positive the universe wants me to work this summer, no questions asked.
Maturity comes when you stop making excuses and start making changes.
