This past weekend I had a spontaneous trip to the local fruit farm and since I’d been to the same place last summer I already knew what to expect and what also what I’d do there. Despite this, I was excited and when we arrived, in awe, of how beautiful the place was and the sense of calm it brought me.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with the cool summer breeze and the baskets piled up, one above the other. Although many people had already arrived before us, it was easy to get lost in your own world and not pay attention to those around you whilst picking many of fruits, most of which were strawberries, though they did have ripe raspberries, gooseberries and blackcurrants.
Being surrounded by nature along with fields of greenery as far as the eye could see brought me a sense of serenity, I felt a moment of pure happiness and ease, with nothing on my mind other than picking the biggest and reddest berries I could find. For me, it was the perfect escape from reality and into another surreal world.
