My own experience of journaling is a little strange I suppose, I started on a whim as a way to keep myself occupied during the summer holidays but it turned out to be one of the most beneficial activities I’ve ever done.
Constantly with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I’m surrounded with numerous ideas and so my brain is always buzzing away with thoughts and goals I’d like to accomplish. On top of all that I like to reflect on what happened during the day and sort of recollect my thoughts and direct them to what I want to make happen in the future.
As you can probably imagine, I’m more often than I’d like overwhelmed with all this information so I resorted to journaling to strategically write down the chaos that was in my mind. My creative side then emerged and I started to create collages, lists and entries about my day. Not only was I able to remember the many ideas that I had but it also helped to prevent the buzz in my mind, it felt a lot less cloudy and blurred.
Recently I came across a few articles that talked about the benefits of journaling and of course I had to share them with you, with the ways they’ve helped me, they’re bound to do the same to you. So if journaling is something you’ve never tried, give it a go!! Remember none of it has to be ordered or perfect or written in an eloquent manner, just scribble down whatever you’d like and make it your own. 🙂
